Questions

The things people ask before they buy

What actually happens when a customer taps the link?

Their browser opens and the call connects — no app to install, no number to dial, no permission beyond the microphone. They can be on a laptop in London or a phone in Lagos; it makes no difference to them and no difference to what it costs you.

Do callers know they're talking to an AI?

Yes, and it says so. You can change how it introduces itself, but you can't make it claim to be a person. Callers work it out within a sentence or two anyway, and the ones who feel tricked don't book.

What happens when the AI can't help?

It hands over. If someone on your team is on duty it puts them into the same call, with a summary first so the caller doesn't repeat themselves. If nobody is available, the conversation and its summary are in your inbox so you can get back to the caller. Queues, where callers wait for the next free person, are on Call Centre plans.

Can it read from our CRM and helpdesk?

Yes, and it does it before the call rather than during it. Your connected systems are read as the conversation is set up, so the AI opens knowing the shape of your business — what a customer has spent, whether they have an open ticket, what they last ordered.

The distinction worth knowing: a database you connect can be queried live, mid-sentence, so the AI quotes a balance that is true at that second. A third-party API is read beforehand. If you need a particular system answered from live during a call, ask us where it sits rather than assuming — we would rather tell you now than have you find out on a demo.

Do I have to replace my phone system?

No. Point an existing number at us, or start with a call link on your website and leave the phones exactly as they are. Most people start with the link — it takes about ten minutes, and it's the one that carries the attribution.

Is the outbound dialler legal where I am?

It's built to Ofcom's persistent misuse policy under the Communications Act 2003, which is among the strictest regimes anywhere — abandoned calls tracked against a 3% rolling limit per campaign, dial ratio clamped automatically, numbers that reached nobody embargoed for 72 hours.

You remain responsible for screening against the preference registers in your market and for having a lawful basis to call. If you're outside the UK, tell us where you're calling and we'll go through what applies.

Where does the money go when the AI takes a payment?

Directly into your own account. It never passes through us, which keeps your customers' money out of our hands and us out of the payments regulation that would otherwise apply. Stripe today; local rails for West and East Africa on request.

Can the AI be talked into giving a discount?

No. Deposit floors, discount ceilings and which products can be sold without a person are enforced by the platform before a price is ever quoted. They're rules, not instructions in a prompt — and the difference matters, because a prompt can be argued with.

What happens if your AI provider has an outage?

Several model providers are configured in priority order. One that returns a quota or billing error is treated as permanently failing and skipped straight away rather than retried, and one that keeps failing is stood down for a while instead of being asked again on every request. Traffic moves on without anyone intervening.

The part worth knowing is how it looks when it does happen: spoken calls do not use our language model — the voice service brings its own — so calls keep working normally while chat and post-call reports stop. If you are ever unsure, ask us for the provider health check; it says which providers are actually answering rather than which are configured.

What about recordings and data protection?

Call recording is off unless you switch it on; it is a paid add-on. When it is on, callers hear that the call is recorded before anything else, and recordings are deleted after the period you set (30 days unless you choose less). Calls the AI answers are transcribed, and callers are told so; transcripts are kept for 30, 90 or 365 days, or until you delete them (90 days unless you choose). Our privacy policy sets out what is kept and who processes it.

Ask us where your data is stored before you sign — we'll tell you exactly, in writing, for your region. It's a fair question and a vague answer to it should worry you about any vendor.

How many people can call at once?

As many as your plan's lines allow, and lines are added one at a time rather than in blocks. This is the part that surprises people: a phone number is one conversation unless you buy more, whereas concurrency on links is just a number you set.

How long does setup take?

An afternoon for a single business. Choose your trade, upload your documents, connect your calendar, publish a link. There is no implementation project and no professional services fee, because there is nothing to implement.
